The magical village of Zermatt

Mountain village between the mighty peaks is encased on all sides by pristine nature. Its main specialty is the top of the Matterhorn. Area under the mighty mountain has a very friendly climate and provides a lot of sunny days per year. The local climate is almost incredible, because with yearly over 300 sunny days, it is an area with the lowest rainfall in Switzerland. Locals are aware of untouched nature that surrounds them and are taking care of the fresh and clean air in the village. Since 1947, they used exclusively electric vehicles and horse yokes. With this and with the unspoiled nature surrounding them they prove that Zermatt really is completely its own world. Already a few kilometres from the village, in the city Taschn, it is necessary to park your vehicle and continue to the village by train. The train journey takes only about five minutes. Zermatt is considered one of the most preferred winter resorts in the Alps, where there are also hotels and restaurants, which are among the very best in the world. The locals are very proud of their village and say that it personifies the Switzerland. Almost a third of Alpine four-thousand-meters-high mountains are surrounding this mountain resort, and are mostly visited by ski sports fans, as well as by hikers. The first visits of this area dates back to 1865, when the first successful ascent of the Matterhorn was made. The village is worth visiting in all seasons because it offers numerous sport and less sporting activities all over the year.
