Just off the coast of  sit two of the most exclusive islands in the USA, if not the world – Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket.  Frequented by U.S. presidents and even some celebrities, these two islands offer pristine beaches, scenic hiking and biking, and tons of outdoor activities. But most important, each island has a hostel.


HI-Martha’s Vineyard was voted the Friendliest Hostel in the World in 2013 by Hostelling International out of its 4,000+ hostels.  While you’re on the island, take a kayak adventure, relax on the beach, or visit the art galleries.

HI-Nantucket a former lifesaving station built in 1873.  It is located across the street from Surfside Beach and easily accessible to all the island’s main activities.  The island of Nantucket was name the Best Island in the World by National Geographic in 2012, and if that’s not enough to entice you, maybe the hostel’s free waffle bar breakfast will!
