Winter tips
- Davos-Klosters offers a choice of six skiing areas: The “ Jakobshorn”, the “Parsenn, the “Gotschna” and the 3 family-friendly moutains Pischa, Madrisa and Rinerhorn.
- Here you will find 320 km of snow-covered slopes and 59 ski lifts.
- Conveniently located next to the hostel, the “Heidilift” is the perfect place for families or ski or snowboard beginners.
- Ideally located to reach any skiing area: Valley Station of the “Gotschnabahn”: 500 m on foot, 5 minutes with the line 7 of the local buses (free).
- Valley Station of the “Madrisabahn”: 15 minutes with the line 6 of the local buses (free).
- Valley Station of the “Parsennbahn” In Davos: 25 minutes by train (free).
- Valley Station of the “Jakobshorn”: 30 minutes by train (free).
- The cross-country skiing network in Davos Klosters contains over 100 km of classic trails and 46 km of skating trails at all difficulty levels.
- On 111 km of winter hiking trials in Davos and 45 km in Klosters, all cleared of snow, you can walk or stroll through the snowy landscape.

“Mountain and valley” snowshoe tour

For nature-lovers who want to experience and explore winter landscapes together in the valley and on the mountain a guided snowshoe tour is available. For two days you will find recreation in a tranquil, snow-covered natural environment away from the tourist masses.



Offer: 3 nights in Klosters Youth Hostel incl. half board, 2 guided snowshoe tours with snowshoes and sticks provided.

Programme:
Day 1: 2½ to 3-hour guided snowshoe tour
Day 2: 4 to 6-hour guided snowshoe tour

Requirements: Health, stamina and fitness commensurate with the tours. No previous experience required. The tours do not go through high-risk areas, thus avoiding the need for an avalanche rescue device.

Cost: in a single, 2-bed and family room CHF 386.- per person, in a dormitory CHF 356.- per person



Valid: 19 Dec 2014 - 06 Apr 2015

What you should bring: Warm, weather-proof winter or skiwear, possibly also gaiters, sun screen, sun glasses, mountain boots or sturdy winter boots. Bring your own provisions in your backpack or obtain a lunch pack in the hostel for CHF 12.-. Snowshoes and sticks provided.
